Blogging Inspiration

One thing with the blogging world, is that there is always someone thinking about the way they live their life, and there is always someone writing about it in such a way that it inspires you to be better, to live better. Jenn Stark is one of those beauties. Have a peek at her blog, and read this post, in which she talks about living her life as though it were movie or a book. A story to be told. Meaning that it should be exciting, and enthralling, and make the most of every scene. And that it shouldn't be boring, or be one of those books you give up on and put down 2 chapters in.

I think as far as simple philosophies go, this is a great thing to think about. If we can constantly strive to be better human beings, and live better lives, whether through the joy we feel, or the good deeds we do, or just the exciting life we live, then we are making the world better, and giving the life we have been given a meaning.

I have a website!

I have a website! Its simple and small- but it's there! YAY!

I chose to create a simple website for myself as I wanted an easy viewing platform of my work for those that are interested/potential clients. I believe this is a better form than through this blog, and I want the website to represent me professionally, whereas this represents me personally too.

Sneak Peak: Edd and Amy

Edd and Amy are two of my house mates who I coerced into doing a couples shoot for me. Whilst a bit nervous about it, they (lucky for me) agreed to do the shoot, admitting that they had actually thought about having a shoot done previously. I think (and really hope) that they enjoyed themselves in the end, and didn't feel quite as uncomfortable in front of the camera as they thought they would.

The shoot itself went beautifully, despite the nerves that I ever so graciously took out on Mike that morning (LY!). Edd and Amy proved themselves to be both photogenic and ridiculously in love. This pair have just gone over the 4 year mark, 3 of those years they have spent doing long distance. I have no idea how they successfully managed to do this and stay so strong. But they did it. And I am so envious and inspired by that. Me and the mr did 4 months of long distance, and I have to say it was some of the hardest months of our relationship, not just due to the distance but also the circumstances I was living in, however it was still torture to be away from my partner and best friend who I had at this point been living with for a year and a half. So all credit is completely due to this lovely couple who I am lucky enough to call my friends and my house mates.

Art Inspiration

I love the retro style of pin up girls, and so naturally I loved these before and after images of the original pin up girls that I found here. I also love how integral these images now are to our culture. They are known for being on the bomber planes in the war, and on the Sailor Jerry bottles, but they have defined decades of style and fashion inspiration. Take a look at the before photos and resulting paintings that started all of this....

Snapshots from behind the camera

So last week's busy week was slowly broken down into a slightly less busy week as the course with Origin was cancelled- however I have a shoot lined up for today, plus some sneak peaks from the shoot on Friday.

But firstly I wanted to share this with you.

Some of you, in fact many of you may have already seen this image as it is now my profile picture on facebook :)

My mr has a thing for taking stupid pictures of me while I'm shooting. He acted as my assistant on Friday; carrying my stuff, fetching me things and generally helping out. While he was carrying my digital camera he took some snaps of me. Most of them I admittedly didn't like but the top one I kinda do :)

And for a frame of reference- here is a snapshot of me he took on my birthday when we lived in Canada!
